Our Everyday Porridge

This is how I make my family’s everyday porridge. We have it pretty much every morning during the week and its our absolute favourite.It’s easy to make, full of protein, healthy fats, iron, calcium, antioxidants, omega-3’s, zinc, magnesium and so much more.It’s truly amazing. You have to try it!

Our Everyday Porridge 

Serves 4 (2 adults and 2 kids)

  • 1 ½ cups of old fashioned oats
  • 1 ½ cups of calcium fortified soy milk
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 tbsp of chia
  • 2 tbsp of hemp seeds
  • 2 tbsp of goji berries
  • 2 tbsp of raisins
  • 1 tbsp of ground flax
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 2 cups of mixed berries (we love wild blueberries and mixed berries)
  1. Heat everything except the berries on the stove and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. While the porridge cooks gently heat the berries and once they are warm and soft mash then with a fork until a compote is created.
  3. Place the porridge in bowls and top with berries, your favourite plant based yogurt, maple syrup and more soy milk.
