What I Eat in a Day as a Breastfeeding Plant-Based Mama

Here’s a little peek into what I eat during the day as a breastfeeding plant-based mama. This is not for comparison but inspiration and to hopefully give you a few new ideas and recipes that might work for you.

7.30 am Lemon Water

Big mug of warm lemon water. This is such an important part of my morning and something I crave. I’ve been able to pick lemons from our tree each morning with Luca so It's also a cute little morning ritual for us that I love.

7.45 am Blueberry Porridge

Made with old-fashioned oats, hemp hearts, chia, flax, raisins, soy milk and topped with berries, banana, pumpkin seeds and, maple. I have this every morning and I never get sick of it. It’s so easy and nourishing and I love it so much!! The recipe is from my ebook if you want to give it a try.

10 am Avocado Toast

2 pieces of sourdough bread with avocado, lemon juice, salt and pepper. I love having this every day. Avocados are my favourite foods and this combo is heavenly. The kids also love this so we normally all end up eating it together. I also made a big green smoothie with pineapple, banana, celery, cucumber, mint, lemon, and water and we all had a glass. This recipe is also from my ebook under 'essential recipes'.

1 pm Green wraps

Made with salad, avocado, hummus and, sauerkraut. I love how quick and easy this lunch is and how fresh it tastes. Delicious!

3 pm Matcha Latte + Muffin

Made with almond milk + one of my Blueberry Zucchini Breakfast Muffins. Such a delicious afternoon snack that always gives me the best boost of energy.

7.15 pm Golden Soup

This recipe is made with pumpkins, lentils and carrots and I had it with 2 pieces of sourdough with avocado. I don’t normally eat this much bread in a day but I love soup and toast and I couldn’t go past the delicious fresh sourdough that I had picked up that day.

9 pm Vitamins

Vit C sachet, prenatal, omega’s, B vitamins and, Calm and restore. If you would like to know what supplements my family takes then check out my ebook for a complete list.I hope this gives you some new ideas for your day. I know how busy it is with kids and how hard it can be to prioritize your own recipes and food. My ebook My Plant-Based Family has a bunch of other recipes that I know you’re going to love if you need some new ideas.
