My Top 10 daily self-care rituals that take less than 3 minutes

As a busy mum, self-care is one of the hardest things to prioritise, am I right? We are needed 24/7 and finding just a little moment of peace to focus on ourselves is challenging. But it's not impossible. This is something I am so passionate about as I’ve noticed such a difference in my mood, energy, mindset, and of course ability to parent when I’ve taken just a little time every day for self-care.What this looks like for me is fitting in 2-3 minutes multiple times each day, where I focus on adding in little wellness hacks/ beauty rituals, nourishing drinks, and mindfulness.I shared this in my weekly email last week (don’t forget to sign up) and after getting such great feedback I knew I needed to talk about it on here as well. What are these little 2-3 minute rituals you may ask?

Well I have a bunch that I pull from each day, but these are my favourites:

  •  30 seconds of thinking about what I am grateful for before I get out of bed.
  • Dry body brushing before my morning shower (great for your lymphatic system)
  • 30-second cold shower at the end of my normal shower (this one is defiantly harder now that its winter)
  • Gua Sha face massage
  •  Warm Lemon water before any food or drink in the morning
  • Green juice or smoothie
  •  Matcha latte which I love to drink outside in the sunshine if possible
  • 5-minute meditation
  • 3-5 minutes of journaling
  • 5 minutes of stretching and focusing on my breathing

I have a bunch of other longer rituals and self-care habits that I add into my day but these are the ones that take less than 5 minutes and which I scatter throughout my day to balance it all, sustain my energy, re-center and be more present.I challenge you to add one or two of these rituals into your day today and see how you feel.Notice the subtle changes in your breathing, your focus, and your mindset.I know this is hard with kids. Trust me I completely get it. But I believe that is why these rituals need to be front and center in your day and something that you prioritise and put first.Commit to showing up for yourself and working each day on being the best version you can be.I’d love to know how you find this little challenge and if you already apply daily rituals of self-care into your day I’d love to hear from you and know what they are.
