My Green Lean Smoothie

If you haven’t already picked up on it, I love green smoothies!!! They have been a huge part of my life and are a morning staple. There are so many different green smoothie recipes out there, but after many different taste testings this is hands down, mine and my families favourite.It is packed full of many different vitamins and minerals which is what makes it such a staple in my diet. Some of the nutrients that are in high amounts include iron, vitamin C, A and K.

MY GREEN LEAN SMOOTHIE

It makes 4 glasses (I like to put two into mason jars for Matt and I to have as an afternoon pick me up)

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 big bunch of spinach
  • 2 large kale leaves
  • ¼ cucumber
  • ½-1 frozen banana
  • ½ cup of pineapple
  • ½ lemon
  • 2 cups of coconut water or filtered water
  • Handful of ice cubes
  • Optional: few mint leaves
  • Optional: 1 tsp of hemp seed oil
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Put all the ingredients into a high-speed blender and blitz until completely smooth. If your blender is a basic one you might have to spend longer blending in order to break down the spinach and kale.
  2. Serve immediately while cold or store in mason jars for later in the day.

Note: Can be made and kept for two days in the fridge in an airtight jar.
